In response to the covid-19 situation in Singapore, Sony Digital Workshop shall be taking additional measures to ensure the safety of our participants:

  2. Participant’s temperature* will be taken & hand sanitiser provided before proceeding to the workshop.

From theory to practical, the participants will learn to develop a creative photographic vision that captures the minute details of the macro world in an appealing manner. This workshop is headed by multi-award winning photographer and educator, Mr Yeo Yeow Kwang.

This 3-part workshop will be covered over a 2-day period. Kindly ensure you have met the pre-requisite and read the curriculum section before registering for this workshop.

If you do not own a macro lens, select Sony Macro lenses are provided by SDW during the practical to share amongst participants.

To participate, you need to have a interchangeable lens camera and able to commit to the full duration of the program.

The curriculum is designed for participants who are proficient in the following:

  1. Understands photography exposure
  2. Able to operate their camera and find settings on their own
  3. Understands how to control depth of field through:
    • Aperture
    • Focal Length
    • Distance
  4. Understands and practises different shutter speed application
  5. Understands and practises application of ISO under different photographic scenarios

Class size is restricted to 12 pax to ensure low student-teacher ratio.

  • Use of macro lens and the required accessories for macro photography,
  • Tips for flower photography,
  • Focusing method and depth of field control, learn manual focus to create soft background and foreground,
  • Metering and exposure setting,
  • Composition and graphic consideration.
