This program is helmed by Sony Digital Workshop Photography Mentor, Wesley Loh.
Our objective is to provide you mentorship and:
- Guidance on photographic discovery, where we work towards your interests, not just at what you are good at
- Develop insights into the nuance within your favourite photos
- Guidiance from Wesley Loh to help develop your own distinct style
This course is NOT about:
- Compositions and camera settings, though you may receive such feedbacks where applicable
- Improving your skill in a particular genre
- Receiving more likes on Social Media
Participating students need to:
- Provide photography taken in the past that speaks to them
- Participate in discussions
- Commit to completing the course assignment
- Commit to attending all 3 lessons as per curriculum
About Wesley Loh
Wesley is a storyteller and extremely curious about people.
Wesley’s eye for capturing emotions has helped corporate outfits portray a more human and friendlier side to their images. He set up Memphis West Pictures in 1997, and has shot for many clients ranging from international companies (e.g. McDonald's, Standard Chartered Bank, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, Burson-Marsteller, JW Marriott & GHM Hotels) and local firms and institutions (e.g. National University Hospital, SMU, NTU, NUS, NTU, & National Arts Council).
On a personal front, Wesley has exhibited his works at Genesis in Paris and the University Cultural Centre (Singapore). Wesley won an award for for the ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu in 2012. More recently, he worked with Epigram Books to publish 100 Singaporeans, a photography book showcasing 100 Singaporean faces, in his bid to find the "Singaporean face".
