About the speakers - Shimmon Joel Mathews & Matt Low

Shimmon is a Commercial Director, Videographer, Studio Owner. He first owned a Sony camera in 2020 (Alpha 6400) to record music covers and that was the beginning of his career in the social media and commercial world.

He lives in Malaysia and has worked with local and International brands such as Milo, Lipton, Mini Cooper, Nespresso, Nanlite and many more. He’s style is ever evolving with the current trends and interests but one thing’s for sure, he’s a firm believer in creating content that has both a compelling message and dynamic visuals.

Matt is a Commercial Director, Videographer & Photographer. His journey in filmmaking began in 2017 when he got his first camera, the Sony Alpha 6500, which was used to shoot weddings and short documentaries. His work blends authentic storytelling with high-quality visuals, and what started as a passion quickly evolved into a career, leading him to explore various creative avenues in commercial work.

He is based in Malaysia and co-manage SJM Studios alongside Shimmon. Together, they are passionate about work closely with the Alpha community, offering support, guidance, and expertise to help creators grow and thrive together in a collaborative environment.
