Since the advent of Instagram Stories and the rising popularity of TikTok, videography is set to eclipse still images and dominate the world of content creation. Whether you are looking to create videos to spice up your social media presence or generating content for your business, this full-day workshop is designed to springboard you into the exciting world of videography!

About your coach: Claudio Chock
Claudio is a multi-hyphenate creative who lives and breathes visual storytelling. His expertise in photography, videography and cinematography, as well as his involvement in productions of different scales over the years have been essential in his approach of bringing client’s stories to life

Pre-Requisite

  • A loan of Sony’s Alpha 7C Full-Frame camera will be provided to be used during this workshop
  • You need to bring along your own laptop (SD Cards will be provided and participants are required to transfer camera footages to their laptop)
  • You need to have the free version of Davinci Resolve installed in your computer (*Download Here)

  • At least 50GB disk space for the training
  • A computer with web conferencing capability for the review session

CURRICULUM

BASIC VIDEO THEORY

  • Basic video theory such as file format & shutter angles
  • Planning, shoot & edit a video

 

CAMERA TECHNIQUES

  • A variety of camera techniques for video such as handheld techniques and using supporting equipment
  • Understanding the correlation between camera techniques and visual framing
  • Using basic lighting effects to level up your shots

 

PLANNING A VISUAL STORY

  • Overview of the importance of scripting and storyboarding
  • Visualising a video story and creating a story flow prior to shooting
  • Planning your cuts and transitions and how to use camera techniques to achieve them

 

PRACTICAL SHOOT

  • Put what you learnt into practice what during this practical shoot

 

EDIT SESSION

  • DaVinci Resolve workspace and demo of important tools
  • Follow-along edit session based on Coach’s own storyboard with provided rushes
  • Preparing your video sequence for export
