For this winter night scene, I used the Sony A7IV with the 16-35mm GM2 lens to capture the enchanting atmosphere of this snow-covered onsen town. The wide-angle perspective allowed me to frame the glowing lantern-lit buildings along the river while showcasing the surrounding snow-laden trees. The lens’s sharp optics brought out the intricate details in the architecture and the delicate textures of the snow, while its excellent low-light performance helped retain clarity without excessive noise. The camera’s dynamic range allowed me to balance the warm artificial lights with the cool blue tones of the twilight sky, creating a visually striking contrast. This setup was instrumental in preserving the magical ambiance of the town, making the image feel immersive and true to the moment.
